Charles Ryan Long curated Art, AIDS, and Activism, featuring Marc Lida, Carlos Alfonzo, Kurt Reynolds, Frank Moore, Copy Berg, John Sapp, Hugh Steers, Gregory Russell, Keith Haring, Jose Luis Cortes, Memphis, Carlos Gonzalez, Hector Toscano, Edwin Lacend, Joe De Hoyos, Humberto Moreno, Larry JaBell, Kevin Wesley, Elton Tucker, and David Reyes.

Long says, "I came to Visual AIDS's Frank Moore Archive Project to think about how artists living with HIV have treated AIDS in their work over the course of the epidemic, and how art has shaped the cultural and political response to HIV/AIDS. My own consciousness as an activist was fueled by the graphics of Gran Fury and ACT UP. I wanted to look to recent art for insight and imagery that might ignite new activist responses to the epidemic and strengthen the social justice movement for HIV prevention and treatment access among all of the affected communities." Each month, Visual AIDS invites guest curators, drawn from both the arts and AIDS communities, to select several works from the Frank Moore Archive Project and Visual AIDS Artists Registry. View past Web Gallery here.
